Nad Johns was the Star Colonel of the 98th Crimson Guards in 3067.[1]
In 3069, his unit was temporarily led by Khan Karianna Schmitt on Albion, capturing several industrial complexes from Clan Star Adder.[2] They then defended these holdings on Albion when they came under several attacks between 3070 to 3072 by Adder forces.[3] In early 3073, they took part in the assault on Eden against the Star Adder and Clan Hell's Horses enclaves, showing no mercy to the Adders in retribution for the bombardment of York.[4]
After Eden, they were ordered to move to Albion along with Omega and Omicron Galaxies and the recently repaired Aegis-class CBS Exsanguine.
Here they made a combat drop straight onto one of the Adder enclaves, which fell quickly.[4] A week later the Ninety-eighth Crimson Guards were the first to enter the city, passing the remains of the Star Adder police cordons and clashing with the remaining Star Adder forces; those defending forces, led by the 343rd Adder Sentinels, fell back further into the city, taking the civilians with them. When the Star Adders made a stand near a large OmniMech facility, the Ninety-eight realized they'd been drawn into a trap; hordes of armed civilians rose up to attack the Guards, and as Star Colonel Nad Johns attempted to strike out eastwards towards the main city DropPort, the Star Adders collapsed more than twenty city blocks onto the Blood Spirit forces. More than seven thousand civilians died and the dropping buildings buried many of the Guards' 'Mechs in a disaster that caused Keller to halt Omicron's advance. The 98th Crimson Guards were wiped out the ambush that saw the Adders blow up a large portion of the city to prevent its capture, among them his commanding officer Star Colonel Nad Johns.[4]
Other Blood Spirit Clusters took heavy damage from aerospace attack before the Spirit's withdrew and obliterated both Adder enclaves with orbital bombardment.[5]
