Major General Nicholas Shaner was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's 206th Jump Infantry Division as of 2764.[1]

While chafing at being confined to a single world of Khartoum in the Lyran Commonwealth due to a lack of transport assets, unlike many Twentieth Army, Major General Shaner was comfortable with his unit's withdrawal from the Rim Worlds Republic following the Birthday Proclamations.
Shaner adopted the pragmatic view that, whatever was going to happen in the RWR due to the SLDF's absence, by 2764 it presumably had already happened.[1]
