Noran Kerensky was a Star Commander in the Wolf Empire touman, which fought in the invaded Terra in 3151.[1]

History[edit]

Noran Kerensky was a member of the Clan Wolf touman, and also of Kerensky (Bloodname). Sometime prior to 3151, he achieved a Bloodname. During the Battle of Terra he was a Star Commander serving in Theta Galaxy, and with them he fought in the Trial against Clan Jade Falcon.[1]

When the Falcons, during the second day of the Trial, 18 April, at the area which later was known with the name Noran gave it: The Cauldron. Theta Galaxy was one of those trapped by the fire. Noran was one of those fortunate enough to survive the initial fire, but the continuous Falcon air and artillery attacks threatened the survival of the trapped Wolves. Noran found himself at the command of a group of four scattered Stars of OmniMechs and Elementals... but, far from retreat, he managed to contact one of his superiors, Star Captain Dukes, and after being informed of the situation, Noran decided to do the most unexpected: to attack against the Falcon lines, through the fire. She gave him permission to try it, and Noran's force, reinforced by a group of Elementals, departed.[2][3]

Not all of Noran's ad hoc members managed to survive through the fire, but most did it. They were lucky: the Falcons, apparently, didn't expect any Wolf to survive the fire, so the defenses of the first Falcon artillery battery, Forward Fire Battery Alpha, a dozen of Thumper artillery launchers, was minimal: four Gurzil fire support tanks.[4]

The enraged wolves managed to destroy all the launchers and most of their defenders quickly. When Falcon reinforcements arrived, Noran's group did the unexpected: to return inside the fire. Then, they cut northward, picking up more 'Mechs and Elemental survivors. They suffered more losses, but managed to survive, falling upon the only other Falcon artillery unit, Forward Fire battery Beta, destroying it too, eliminating all opponents... before returning into the fire again.[2]

Incredibly, most of Noran's force, including himself, gathering more survivors and exiting out of the Cauldron by the Wolves' side. They were the last ones to arrive, with three other warriors inside Noran's cockpit. They were received and congratulated by the General Chance Vickers itself.[5]

Noran's actions destroyed the last falcon artillery units, being the only positive aspect of that day's fight, saving several warriors and greatly contributing to the Wolves' ultimately victory in the Trial.[6]

BattleMech[edit]

Noran's OmniMech during the Trial was an Executioner.[7]
