Norne Aerospace Corporation was a Towne-based interstellar shipping company that declared bankruptcy in December 3132.[1]

Overview[edit]

Before its collapse, Norne Aerospace, headquartered in Bakersport, held a small fleet. As of 3131, the company held four Fury-class DropShips, one Mule-class DropShip, and a dozen small shuttlecraft, all set up to carry cargo and passengers between Addicks, Helen, Murchison, and Towne. Poor safety and maintenance standards drove the company into disaster, with a series of accidents culminating in one of their DropShips, the Sharon Morris, crashing and spilling hundreds of tons of petrochemicals in the oceans of Murchison. Lawsuits and declining earnings led to Norne declaring bankruptcy in December 3132.[1]

By January 3133, the top two bids for buying what remained of Norne came from fellow Towne-based shipping company Prince John Express Lines and massive multi-planetary Bannson Universal Unlimited. While Bannson's proposal included a severance package for any large-scale layoffs after acquisition, PJEL promised to lay off no more than twenty percent of Norne's staff and to halt shipments to planets with ongoing hostilities.[1] Norne's final buyer is unknown.
