Major Pierre Bouchard was an officer and MechWarrior in the Eridani Light Horse during the last years of the Third Succession War.[1]

History[edit]

Bouchard was reputed to be a portly, pipe smoking man, whose first love (despite his battle skills) was logistics. His primary career goal was to take command of the Eridani Light Horse's Supply Division.[2] He was a member of the Eridani Light Horse from at least the early 3020s, during which time he met Jaime Wolf on Callisto V, when Wolf's Dragoons were serving under the Lyran Commonwealth.[1]

Battle for Hoff[edit]

As of 3023 Bouchard commanded the 27th Company ("Wolfhounds"), 7th Striker Battalion of the 21st Striker Regiment.[3][1]

In this role, during April and May 3023, Bouchard participated in the 6 week campaign of the Battle of Hoff. Together with four battalions of the Eridani Light Horse, under contract to the Federated Suns, he helped defend a cadre of scientists from raiders fighting for the Draconis Combine, including Wolf's Dragoons. Bouchard personally led the defense of the semi-operational General Circuits complex, near Belfast Heights, against Natasha Kerensky and her Black Widow Company.[1]

This engagement, which was only intended by both sides as a preliminary skirmish to feel out the enemy, resulted in minimal losses and the Light Horse retaining control of the General Circuits complex.[4]

Late Third Succession War[edit]

Following the Battle for Hoff, Bouchard had taken up the role of aide to Brevet General Nathan L. Armstrong, the overall commander of the Eridani Light Horse. However, when an accidental fuel truck explosion killed two MechWarriors and Bouchard's replacement as 27th Company commander, General Armstrong appointed Bouchard to resume command of his old company.

This appointment however caused friction with Major Jameson Nigel, a close friend of Bouchard and commander of the 7th Striker Battalion, who believed Bouchard was after his battalion command. Bouchard however generally laughed off Nigel's paranoia, and continually offered to get him drunk at the next opportunity.[2]

BattleMech[edit]

Bouchard was known to pilot a Crusader BattleMech.[1][3]

Notes[edit]

The date of the Battle of Hoff, which was mention as occurring in April and May 3022 in the Tales of the Black Widow Company, was later corrected by the Wolf's Dragoons (sourcebook) to have been between April and May 3023.
