The Polis are the police force of the Rasalhague Dominion that replaced the Clan Paramilitary Police after Clan Ghost Bear merged with the Free Rasalhague Republic.

During and after the 3151 referendum on whether the Dominion should join the new Star League, polis units across the nation were caught up in the struggles among the bitterly divided populace. While many polis forces tried to prevent strife between Joiners and Deniers from getting out of hand, on some worlds the polis instead tacitly or openly sided with one faction, adding to the overall violence.
