During the FedCom Civil War, two brothers found themselves facing each other. Their rivalry dates from the young one's birth, as his mother died during the childbirth, which broke the family. As they grew, their rivalry grews worse and worse, and their competition becames open hate. As Victor Steiner-Davion and his sister Katrina Steiner began tearing apart the Federated Commonwealth, the units of both brothers found themselves in opposite sides. Neven, the pro-Katrina brother, when ordered to attack his brother's unit, refuses to sit down, and blames everything to his brother. As his unit invades Reinier's base, forcing the surprised defenders to surrender, Neven founds a piloted 'Mech, a Zeus, into a hangar. It was his brother's. Reinier refuses to stand down, and Neven attacks him. In the inside of the hangar, his 'Mech has advantage... and manages to put the Zeus on fire. However, Reinier refused to surrender, and only when his brother's 'mech was to blown, Neven realizes how crazy was his acts, and prays his brother to save himself. To prevent innocents' from dying, Reinier drives his 'Mech outside the hangar before it blows... but he refused to eject, and his 'mech blowns.
