Baron Rider Chism was a Lyran Commonwealth MechWarrior and Noble in the mid 31st century.[1]

History[edit]
During the Fourth Succession War, Rider Chism would kill the brother of Count Carson Kurita on Wheel. Carson would swear vengeance against Chism and during the War of 3039 hunted down a Hauptmann Chism on Vega thinking it was Rider Chism. But, it was not Rider. It was Rider's daughter whose death further inflamed the feud between the two families.[1]
Chism would be later made a Baron and the two sides frequently raided each other's holdings. After the death of Rider's wife, the feud came to a head in 3046 when Rider Chism gathered his forces and attacked Kurita's estate on Kaus Media. There Rider and Carson met upon a small mesa where they dueled in their BattleMechs while their forces watched without interfering. Rider would kill Carson during the duel, but he then would be cut down in turn by Carson's Royal Guard shortly thereafter.[1][2]
