In 2867, the Nix Bloodhouse of Clan Star Adder declared a rare Trial of Propagation and was opposed by the Hawker Bloodline of Clan Sea Fox, with the resulting battle taking place on Bearclaw. Star Captain Sadler Hawker won the right to defend against Star Colonel Jessica Nix and her troops, although he spent much of the battle unable to locate the older tank commander. Hawker downed a Star Adder Griffin IIC and Conjurer with his Sea Fox-designed Fox before taken by surprise by the hidden Star Colonel Nix. Trading blows, Hawker eventually destroyed the drive train on Nix's Kokou but failed to eliminate any of her weapon systems. Angrily charging at the stubborn warrior's vehicle, the Fox took serious damage before finally breaching Nix's ammunition magazine, killing her and ending the trial.[2]
A ristar before the the battle against the Nix Bloodline, Hawker's success in that trial followed by his later distinctive service eventually lead to his attainment of the rank of Star Colonel, although his killing of Jessica Nix began a lasting feud between the Hawker and Nix Bloodhouses.[1]
BattleMechs[edit]
Sadler Hawker was known for using his clan's namesake 'Mech, the CS-1 Fox. The versatile 'Mech allowed him to achieve victory during the attempted Nix Trial of Propagation on Bearclaw, although the aging Star Colonel Jessica Nix was able to seriously damage Hawker's machine before he killed her.[2]
