Samantha 'Rawhide' Holcomb was a MechWarrior in the Kaiser Systems security force on Herzberg. Against an Eighth Free Worlds Guards raid in 3134, she piloted the dysfunctional prototype SCG-WX1 Scourge, taking the attackers by surprise. Her counterattack quickly destroyed an Eighth Trebuchet and delayed the Guards for long enough to allow Kaiser's security force to rally. In the end, Holcomb died, but Kaiser security repelled the Eighth. Holcomb's success led Kaiser to reconsider the concept of the WX1.[1]

In her final battle, she piloted the SCG-WX1 Scourge.[1]
