Description[edit]
The Sand Devil is the predecessor to the Sabaku Kaze. An ICE powered scout hover tank that resembled the local flat headed Sand Devil serpent residing in wastes of Arkab, the vehicle used two tons of high-density commercial plate for armor. The vehicle was armed with two medium lasers and two small lasers in its turret. The ICE allowed the Sand Devil to reach speeds comparable to a Succession War-era Locust. Desert tribes and nobles of the Azami worlds used these vehicles for defense as well as desert racing. They were used to good effect against raiding Combine MechWarriors. Executives from Buda Imperial were so impressed with the nearly 200-year-old Sand Devil's performance that they funded creation of the Kaze.[2]
