As part of the Northstar Irregulars, in 3022, McClain participated in two known operations, both on behalf of Free Worlds League noble Ezra Durrant: a successful raid of Demeter in April and a failed raid of Bithinia in September. In the latter battle, Trenton was the sole Northstar Irregulars MechWarrior to escape Capellan forces. He negotiated honors of war, losing the three disabled 'Mechs to the Capellans but allowing remaining forces to escape and enabling ransoms for prisoners.[1]
