Sterling was often mistaken for a librarian while off-duty, but while on-duty no-one would mistake the aggressive rising star of the Fourth Regulan Hussars as a wallflower. She was known for demanding excellence from both her troops and superiors, an attitude which was accepted due to the high performance of her company.
The tactics she used with her unit was allowing two lances to surround an enemy force while laying down long-range fire, as her command lance closed to short range.[1]
