The novel Call of Duty states Katya was injured on Tukayyid in a time that coincides with the Battle for Tukayyid (3052) but that would make her a ComGuard in her past life. I can't find any indication she ever was tied to Comstar though. I always operated under the assumption she was FedCom, though to be fair nothing spells that out either that I'm aware of. Might be a continuity error.
