The Lyran Commonwealth Before the Steiners was a written work, authored by historian Thelos Auburn and published by Commonwealth Historical Press, in 3022.[1]
Overview[edit]
This work was a history of the Lyran Commonwealth, prior to the ascension of House Steiner to the Archonship, in the guise of Katherine Steiner. It included a story regarding the Royal Arcturan Shakespearean Players' 20th anniversary performance in 2395, three weeks after the death of Archon Robert Marsden, who died in suspicious circumstances. In light of the Archon's death, the play to be performed in front of the Lyran Commonwealth's military elite was switched from A Midsummer Night's Dream to Hamlet, in order the accuse those thought responsible for the Archon's death. Some of the senior generals targeted by this veiled criticism, understood the message being sent, and left the theater in a huff.[1]
