Welcome to my about me page.

I have been playing Battletech with my fathers friends since it first appeared as Battledroids back in Albuquerque, NM. My very first wargame I owned was Battletech (Second Edition) that we all consider the start. I would continue to play in San Marcos, TX (including on a Battletech MUSH), and joined the FanPro Commando Program which I am still part of as the Catalyst Demo Team. Since then I moved to Las Vegas, NV and have helped (and ran) gamesdays sand conventions, If you are ever in town give me a hollar (on Facebook) and we can roll some dice. Our FB group is called "Las Vegas Battletech and Alpha Strike".

Fluff is an ever important pat of keeping a game alive, even though giant stompy robots will get you new opponents. I was interested in Davion, but the store owner got me a Steiner path. I ended up being ok with that as I really liked the Grey Death Legion from Decision at Thunder Rift, still one of my favorite novels even today. While playing the Battletech MUSH in the 1990's, I discovered that everyone was playing Steiner or Davion, so I ended up playing Liao as someone needed to be heading up those units. Initially I worked with the Elite 4th Tau Ceti Rangers, and ended up being given command of the larger but regular 15th Dracon on the game. Both were Liao Merc's so "fringe" on the politics, and ex-SLDF Units, so fit a bill of fluff that I could work with, and I wrote a College AFROTC paper on the Military Oath and its Breech, citing the Clans from Battletech's fluff. My miniatures collection reflects both of those Regiments nearly 1 to 1, and the 15th Dracon remains my favorite to play even today - inspite of some nasty Jihad gossip about Overton. Apparently Randall Bills also said I have all the House Liao paraphernalia lol.

My favorite games are Hexless, SCENARIO, multiplayer, with tabletop quality painted figures and reasonable terrain (photographable, not perfect). Ideally drawing primarily from Total Warfare with as few other rules as possible. My favorite era was 3054-3067 in the Chaos Marches, however I am also very fond of supporting the manufacturer in whatever the current timeline might be. Fortunately for us Liao players things have been going fairly well then and in the current ilKhan era. As such we have been working to make some Free on the Web scenarios your club can run along with the new ilKhan supplements Chaos Campaigns.

Thank you,

Jason Coffey, 15th Dracon, House Liao.
