Captain Chak Rasbid was a MechWarrior, who served within the Twenty-First Centauri Lancers, during the Dark Age Era.[1][2][3]

History

Ventabren

Captain Rasbid served in the Twenty-First Centauri Lancers from at least 3131, leading his Company from a Light Support Lance, which was deployed to Ventabren in May 3132 as part of a joint Republic of the Sphere and Oriente Protectorate salvage operation. Rasbid lobbied heavily to be assigned with his personal Lance to this mission to recover equipment from a Operation GOLDEN DAWN-era battlefield, based on his units experience with salvage operations, and the success in combat his Lance technician and SalvageMech pilot Jon Roberson had shown during engagements in 3131.

The mission to Ventabren was deemed a success, after Roberson was able to complete a BattleMech salvage, despite being forced to defend himself against several attackers. Following this action, and another on Sorunda, Rasbid promoted Roberson to a MechWarrior's slot in his own Light Support Lance.[1]

Towne

On 3 August 3133, Rasbid's BattleMech Light Support Lance together with supporting Combat vehicles and infantry, was engaged by Towne Planetary Legate Jonathan Jurik to help bolster the world's defenses.[4][1] At this time, in addition to Rasbid and Roberson, the Light Support Lance also included Rosin Douglas and Thos Cardella.[5] During times when Rasbid was called to lead the other elements of his command, the Light Support Lance was left in the care of Lieutenant Douglas, with Cardella acting as XO.[6]

Shortly afterward Rasbid's arrival on Towne, a force from Landgrave Jasek Kelswa-Steiner's Stormhammers landed near the capital of Port Howard on 27 August, which attempted to seize the cities working HPG the following day in what became known as the Battle of Towne.[7][8]

As part of the city's garrison Rasbid's Light Support Lance, together with local militia and Triarii Protectors units, helped fight off the raiders who were under the command of Kommandant Tamara Duke. The Stormhammers managed to take the HPG during their initial push into the city, but due to an internal dispute between Kommandant Duke and her troops, Rasbid was able to force them to retreat from the HPG and the city. This success was despite Rasbid's own troops such as Thos Cardella considering him to be a nervous wreck, who may have only received his position due to nepotism.[6][3]

Following this battle, the Light Support Lance was relived by Twenty-First Centauri Lancers reinforcements, which also came under the command of Captain Rasbid. Once the Stormhammers were pushed off Towne several days later, during a period the Light Support Lance was left to the command of Rosin Douglas with the assistance of Knight-Errant Kristoff Erbe, Rasbid rewarded the performance of Douglas and Cardella with recommendations that they both be promoted.[6]

Rasbid himself remained on Towne through to at least 4 February 3134, when he was consulted by Governor Renee Oscar regarding the hiring of further mercenaries, to increase Towne's garrison.[2]
