Overview
TharHes is a House Steiner manufacture of BattleMechs, Battle Armor, Exoskeletons, and other military equipment.
Company History
Tharhes was originally a branch of Hesperus II's Defiance Industries which was originally a military equipment manufacturer. By the 31st Century, Defiance was suffering from sluggish sales, and sold the company in order to rebound.
As a joint venture between the Wellby and Steiner noble families, the company was purchased by them. With Landgrave Michael Wellby installed as it first CEO, company was revamp to include BattleMech production in the early 3010s starting with the Crusader. The company began with some stumbling, when they had to recall the first 200 of the 'Mechs when it was found that the reactor shielding for this batch was flawed. [1]
The company began to show better profits in the 3020s with production of the original WLF-1 Wolfhound. Its success with the Wolfhound paved the way for to expanded 'Mech production and much later smaller BattleArmor and Exoskeletons. [2]
TharHes is bound by a contract that proved to be an embarrassment. When the production of the WLF-2 Wolfhound began, they entered a long-term contract with Doering Electronics to provide them with the communications system for the Wolfhound. The TharHes electronics family was very popular, but they're not used by their premier 'Mech. [3]
