History

The Second Free Worlds Legionnaires was built in 3043. A large portion of the unit came from applicants who wanted to be a part of the Legionnaires after the impassioned defense of Suzano by the First Free Worlds Legionnaires, though the core of the unit came from veterans of the Defenders of Andurien.[1]

The unit's first deployment was to Al Jubaylah. There, they assisted in restoring order after a popular religious leader was assassinated. Though they only faced two regiments of infantry and a mercenary BattleMech company under the command of a rebel general, the Second acquitted itself well. Casualties were light, even after storming a pair of fortifications.[1]

After that campaign, they were rotated to Sadurni to assist in the defense of the Duchy of Andurien. They took on pirate hunting duties, which included destroying the band known as the Magnates.[1]

Officers

As of 3059 the Commanding Officer was General Alice Denichuk, who had been in command since the unit's formation.[1]

Force Commander Corinne Marik, the niece of Captain-General Thomas Marik, was the Executive Officer of the 'Mech Regiment for a large portion of the unit's history.[1]

Tactics

The Stygians are best when they use their large artillery and engineering formations to wreak havoc on enemy fortifications.[1]
