Planetary Info
Skat is a quiet, average world that has slightly too much ozone in the atmosphere for human comfort, requiring either special medication or respirators. Its only claim to fame is the method of its colonization. Two colonization efforts landed on the world at the same time, one predominantly Japanese and Korean, while the other was composed of a German/Austrian group. Each group landed on a different continent, and eventually fighting to control all four continents took place. Only mediation by the Terran Hegemony brought peace to the world. During the Succession Wars, Skat changed hands between the Combine and Federated Suns, with each group of colonists rising to power as appropriate. Once Skat became part of the Republic of the Sphere the inhabitants continued to retain their dual-cultures, serving as an example for other Republic worlds that saw new arrivals from other cultures.[1]

Notes
Dark Age: Republic Worlds (3130) states that Skat became a member of the Terran Hegemony after the Hegemony mediated a resolution to the conflict on the world. This is contradicted by Era Report: 2750 and Historical: Liberation of Terra Volume 1, which show Skat as being neither a Hegemony world nor a jointly administered Terran Hegemony/Draconis COmbine world. It was subsequently confirmed by the Line Developers that Dark Age: Republic Worlds (3130) is in error.
