Description
The Naga II was introduced as a refit to the Naga dating from the period after the Battle of Tukayyid.
Weapons and Equipment
The Naga II main defensive asset is the fact it is fairly mobile with a top speed of 86kph, at least for an assault 'Mech. With only 9 tons of standard armor, the Naga II will not be able to stand for long engagements which are common in the Inner Sphere, but with 31 and a half ton of pod space, it might not need to. In its primary configuration, each arm is loaded with a 10-class autocannon, a Ultra AC/10 in the right arm and a LB 10-X AC in the left, allowing it to punch through armor and exploit holes in said armor using cluster rounds. Each autocannon is fed by 2 tons of ammunitions in drum magazines in the associated arm. For long range support, a LRM 20 is mounted in the right torso, along with 2 tons of reloads. As a final almost afterthought, an ER Small Laser is mounted under the cockpit in the center torso. 12 Double Heat sinks try to maintain the machine cool.
Alternate Configurations
- Alternate Configuration A
- A short range brawler version of the Naga II, the A configuration mounts a massive LB 20-X AC in it's left arm, fed by 3 tons of ammunition in the left torso, allowing for a combination of cluster and standard rounds to be used. A Streak SRM 6 is also mounted in the left torso, along with a single ton of ammunition, to exploit holes made in the target armor. For long range support, a pair of ER Large Laser are mounted in the right arm. The ER Small Laser from the Primary configuration is still mounted in the center torso. To deal with the increased heat curve, 4 additional double heat sinks are mounted. BV (2.0) = 2,160 [1]
- Alternate Configuration B
- A long-range missile boat configuration of the Naga II, reminding us of the original Naga, the B configuration mounts a pair of LRM-20 in each arm, along with 3 tons of ammunition in each associated torsos. To improve missile guidance, a NARC Missile Beacon is mounted in the right torso with 1 ton of beacons, while in the left torso is mounted an Anti-Missile System to protect against retaliatory missile fire. BV (2.0) = 2,347 [2] (The record sheet in Recognition Guide: ilClan, vol. 26 shows the appropriate number of AMS ammo while the BattleMech write-up on Page 11 only shows 12 shots of AMS, as if an Inner Sphere AMS was mounted on the Naga II)
