Written in German and exclusively published in that language so far, Sklave und Söldner does not meet the current criteria for Canon in the BattleTech universe. As an official product published under a valid license, it should be regarded as apocryphal.

“ | Keid 3064: Ex-mining slave Orl makes a living as a day laborer until a Waco Rangers MechWarrior hires him as tech. But he is found out at the base and, suspected to be a Wolf's Dragoons spy, is transferred to another mercenary unit.
For lack of a better alternative the 51st Dark Panzer Jaegers put him in a 'Mech cockpit and send him on a suicide mission. Against expectations he and his lance survive the mission through the unexpected help of old friends.
