Overview
The 151st Royal BattleMech Division was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army. It was one of the SLDF's Royal units, which consisted of troops from the Terran Hegemony.
History
In 2764, the unit was assigned, as a part of the XII Corps, Ninth Army, to District 2 of the Free Worlds League Military Region, but was moved to an undisclosed area of the Periphery.[1]
The 151st participated in the Canopian campaign, and during the assault on Terra, they lost nearly a third of their troops. They fought in India and Mexico.[2] The 151st took New Delhi from Amaris' forces.[3] They also landed in Veracruz, South America, and assisted the 245th BattleMech Division in destroying several SDS batteries.[4] After the assault on Terra concluded, the 151st was based in Buenos Aires on the South American continent.[5]
Post-Exodus
Their commanding officer, Lauren Hayes, was a staunch critic of the exodus plan saying it was abandoning the ideals of the Star League. Due to this, Aleksandr Kerensky made a compromise with Jerome Blake that the 151st would become the military arm of ComStar.[1][6][2][7] Despite the fate of the 151st being regarded as unknown for several centuries after the fall of the Star League,[1] subsequent publications released in the thirty-first and thirty-second centuries revealed that the 151st almost certainly formed the basis of the "mercenaries" used to create the First ComStar Expeditionary Division in 2784.[8] Following Operation SILVER SHIELD in June 2788, in which ComStar's Expeditionary Divisions seized control of Terra, the vast majority of the Expeditionary Divisions were demobilized and their equipment cached for the future, forming the basis of the later Com Guard.[9]
Officers
Major-General Sau Trappendorf was in command in 2764 until promoted to the command staff of the Ninth Army in 2776. Lauren Hayes was promoted to Major General and took command of the Division in 2776 after Trappendorf.[6] General Hayes later went on to act as the first commander of ComStar's armed forces.[2]

As an SLDF BattleMech Division the 151st would have been composed with two Brigades of 'Mech regiments and one brigade of Mechanized Infantry regiments.[10]
