History
Formerly the guard unit of the Duke of Kestrel.
Heavily damaged in a reconnaissance raid on the Capellan Confederation before the Fourth Succession War. The Duke of Kestrel intervened to prevent the unit's deactivation. Rebuilt by Hanse Davion by incorporating Mechwarriors from independent units and elements of Capellan forces who had defected to the Federated Suns.
Fought with distinction in the war of 3039.
Forced to retreat from New Canton during the Marik-Liao invasion.
Participated in Operation Bulldog.

As of 3062 the Commanding Officer was Marshal Agatha Stromp, who had been in command since 3053.
