History

The Seventh Regulan Hussars were formed as a medium weight BattleMech regiment from ex–Star League troops and in 2786 were deployed to Köln.[1] They were stationed on Kyrkbacken in 2808 when House Liao launched an assault against the world with five BattleMech regiments. The Seventh put up a dogged defense but after a week of fighting they had been destroyed. The Liao invaders committed numerous war crimes during this offensive and not a single Regulan prisoner was taken. The Hussars as a whole carried a deep grudge against Capellan forces for centuries because of this action. [2]

Rebirth

The Seventh Regulan Hussars was re-formed from the Ronin Incorporated security battalion in 3069. When the Principality of Regulus declared independence, the unit was drafted into the Regulan Hussars. The unit has accepted replacements from many former Free Worlds League regiments, typically soldiers who have deserted from their regiment.[3] They were stationed on Wallis in 3079.[4] In 3085 they were the garrison for Harmony.[5]

Dark Age

The unit initially found it difficult to adapt to the requirements of the Regulan Strategic Military Command, but in the decades since the Jihad they became a valued member of the Regulan Hussars. They were stationed on Regulus in 3145 after taking some losses while raiding the Marik-Stewart Commonwealth. While there they were training replacement armor and infantry units and rebuilding its 'Mech battalion.[6]

When war broke out between the Free Worlds League and Regulus in 3146, the Seventh was stationed on Jouques. In October the Fourth Marik Protectors, having joined the League, landed on the planet and eventually forced the Seventh Hussars off-world.[7] A year later, when Regulus itself was invaded, the Seventh was part of the garrison protecting Regulus City. After the Clan Sea Fox invaders publicly offered to sell goods to the blockade-starved denizens, the Seventh was ordered by Captain-General Lester Cameron-Jones to suppress any such traffic between his subjects and the Clanners. Following this, the Seventh and its Beta Aimag opponents faced off against each other waiting for the stalemate to break.[8]

Notes
