History

The Ninth Hesperus Guards were stationed on Caledonia in 2765. They were originally known as the Ninth Tamar Marines, and their renaming was an accident from the Department of the Quartermaster. This sudden and unwanted name change soured relations between the unit and the Quartermaster. The unit was "sullen" in 2765, resenting their name change and the disrespect it implied. Despite this they were still too important to the High Command to disband.[1]

Tactics

The Ninth was equipped with two battalions of light 'Mechs, making it a dedicated recon command.[1]
