History

In 3055, elements of the cluster (approximately a Trinary in strength) took part in the invasion of Borghese in the Federated Commonwealth, nominally under the invitation of the Borghese government. (Which had been overthrown in a violent coupe.) This plot was foiled by the mercenary Black Thorns, that surprised the Falcons and ultimately drove them from the planet. [1]

After the Jihad ended, the Ninth Talon was stationed on Colmar. They spent most of their time there and grew lazy and complacent. They were totally unprepared for an assault on Trell I and the resulting counterattack by Clan Hell's Horses. This failure was exactly the motivation they needed to improve, and two years later they were considered one of the preeminent Clusters in the Falcon touman. During the internal political conflict between Jana Pryde and Malvina Hazen, the Ninth supported Khan Pryde. However, once Malvina defeated Pryde, the Ninth was a loyal unit.[2]

In 3139 the Ninth faced elements of Clan Wolf-in-Exile on Sargasso.[3] They drove the Wolves away, but the fighting cost them many warriors, including Star Colonel Yaroslav.[2]

Officers

As of 3059 the commanding officer was Star Colonel Dev Iler.

The unit was commanded by Star Colonel Yaroslav, an unblooded warrior, in 3139.[4]
