Description
First introduced in 3096, this post-Jihad design was created by Clan Wolf as a cheap anti-aircraft platform. Slow and heavily armored, the Aesir is often set into static positions where its relatively slow speed is not considered a liability. The design also includes CASE for added protection. In addition to its primary role of air defense, the Aesir is often utilized as a mobile gun emplacement.
While initially produced for use in Clan Wolf's second line formation, it has since spread through out the Inner Sphere. Clan Wolf in Exile also produces this design, and Clan Sea Fox is known to sell it to any interested party.
Armament
The Aesir mounts a set of four Type Sierra LB-X Autocannon/2s in its turret. With their long range, and cluster munitions, they serve as an effective counter against airborne raiders.
Variants
No variants of the Aesir are known.
Notes
The original Dossier for Counterassault describes the vehicle as tracked, and lists its engine as the 165 Omni Fusion; however, in its image the Aesir is depicted as being wheeled. Using game designers, such as Heavy Metal Vee, when the vehicle has given wheels, its given a lower setting engine as 145 rate fusion engine.
Please note at this time, there is no record sheets for this vehicle thus subject to change.
