Description
The Angerona Scout Suit was developed by StarCorp Industries on Terra. The suit was design for need of the newly formed Republic of the Sphere's Armed Forces. Angerona designed with the lessons learned from Stone's Coalition. It utilizes its stealth capacities and quick movement to scout ahead of friendly forces without being detected.
History
During the early 3080s, the 8th Hastati Sentinels were given squad of Angerona suits to test out. The 8th Hastai were called to world of Shipka handle Capellan backed militants were terrorizing the planet's Foxborough continent. The Sentinels had sent in two battle armor squads into area to scout for the enemy. The Capellans equipped with Ying Long, and had ambushed one of Hastai 's squad of Purifier Battle Armor while investigating a town. Other Squad, equipped with Angeronas, watched its fellow soldiers get wiped out. Then they regrouped stalked Militants in full stealth and cut down the two squads of Ying Longs. Only 3 of the militants managed to escape Republic Angeronas. The suit's performance on Skipka, help increase its popularity among Republic troops.[1]
Armaments and Capacities
The Angerona drops the usual Jump Jets most suits it size usually employs inexchange for a higher rate of motion. It can also able to be transported by either BattleMech or Armor Personal Carrier Transport.
As part efforts improve on previous designs that use minmic armor, the suit been outfitted with Improved Stealth armor and Camo System. This combination of armor and electronics systems allows Angerona to move while not being seen. The suit's weaponry includes a Light Recoilless Rifle, with 20 rounds in its right arm, while employing Anti-Personal Weapons mount on the left.
The suit is fully capable of conducting Leg and Swarm attacks.[2]
Variants
- Recon - This is more specialized configuration of the Angerona. The suit retains its Camo System, but drops its other weapons for Improved Sensors, Remote Sensor Dispenser, and given a Light Machine Gun fitted to the left arm as it only fitted weapon. The suit has been given Armored Gloves in place of the Standard's basic manipulators. This allows the trooper to carry regular infantry weapons in its hands. BV (2.0) = 33[3]
