History

As at April 3062 the Aegis-class heavy cruiser Blade was a WarShip within the Clan Nova Cat touman and as such was serving the Second Star League as the SLS Blade within the Transcendent Naval Star. Also serving in the Transcendent Naval Star were two sister ships to the Blade, the SLS Path of Honor and the SLS Vision Quest.[1]

The Blade continued to serve in the Transcendent Naval Star at least until the beginning of the Jihad,[2] and served as a part of the Nova Cat contribution to war efforts against the Word of Blake. The NCS Blade was was one of only two Nova Cat WarShips to survive the Jihad.[3]

Following the founding of the Republic of the Sphere the Blade was transferred to the Republic, serving in the WarShip Command; the Republic renamed the ship to Auspicium.[4]

In 3140, the vessel would be used as part of Republic's efforts to eliminate a renegade ComStar faction which had ressurected the ComGuard's 1st Division. The Auspicium would arrived in Epsilon Eridani's in attempt to pursue the renegades. However, their choice to Jump Points would land the ship where only Transports and their escort would be waiting to depart for the planet. The Auspicium's two fighter squadrons of Schrack OmniFighters would deployed and to engage the flee ComGuards. The WarShip's fighter squadrons would successfully destroy the Guard's Achilles Class Assault DropShip in high-speed pursuit but ship's squadrons would nearly destroyed during the engagement.[5]
