Description

The first of the OmniMechs to be conceptualized in the first generation of Draconis Combine OmniMechs and one of the last to reach production the Avatar is based on captured Vulture OmniMechs. The Avatar is used primarily by the DCMS and has also been sold to the Lyran Alliance and ComStar. The Avatar weighs in at seventy tons and is powered by a Hermes 280 XL Engine that gives it a top speed of 64.8 kph. It is protected by twelve tons of StarSlab/4 armor with CASE that protects the 'Mech against complete destruction from an ammunition explosion. The Avatar is a powerful OmniMech in its various confivurations and has an impressive thirty four tons of pod space allwoing it to carry a wide range of weapons.

Armament

The Avatar has two Ichibi 2000 Medium Lasers that are permenantly mounted on the chassis and are present in all of its configurations. In its primary configuration the Avatar caries two LRM 10 launchers with Artemis IV fire control systems for increased missile accuraccy. These are backed by by an LB-X Autocannon/10 that can fire both solid rounds and cluster ammunition making it suited to a variety of roles. For close range combat the primary configuration adds two [[Machine Guns and two Medium Pulse Lasers.

Alternate Configurations

  • Alt Config A - Focused on close combat the A configuration crries as its only logn range weapon an ER Large Laser. For close combat the Avatar A has mounted a pair of SRM 6 launcher with an Autocannon/20 as well as the two Medium Lasers mounted on the base chassis giving it a devestating close range punch. BV (1.0) = 1,204
  • Alt Config B - A fire support varaint the B configuration carries two LRM 15 launchers and two LRM 10 launchers. These are all mated to an Artemis IV fire control system. The only short range protection on the B configuration are the two Medium Lasers mounted on the base chassis. BV (1.0) = 1,179
  • Alt Config C - The C confguration carries a C3 Master Computer into battle allowing the Avatar to act as the central node for a C3 lance. The C configuration attempts to keep enemies at arms length with a PPC and Ultra Autocannon/5 supported by a pair of LRM 10 launchers. The Avatar C is protected at short range by the two hard mounted Medium Lasers. BV (1.0) = 1,094
  • Alt Config D - A newer configuration that uses technology from the Free Worlds Leage and Draconis Combine the D config is intended to act as a sniper. The primary weapon is a Light Gauss Rifle which has a range of 750 meters. For close to medium range combat two MRM 20 launchers are carried as well as a pair of ER Medium Lasers in additiont o the two hard wired Medium Lasers. Finally the D Configuration has a C3 Slave unit that allows it to work in C3 lances. BV (1.0) = 1,170
  • Alt Config E - A configuration in use by ComStar and the Word of Blake the E configuration is armed with an ER PPC for its long range firepower and can bring its powerful Ultra Autocanon/10 to bear as it closes withits enemy. If the target of the Avatar Es pilot survives long range combat a ER Medium Laser and the two hard wired Medium Lasers give the E configuraton good short range protection. BV (1.0) = 1,383
  • Alt Config F - A versatile yet simple configuration of the Avatar the F configuration is armed with an ER PPC for long range combat and once it closes to short ranges it can use its LB-X Autocannon/20 which can down most light 'Mechs in a single shot. These are backed up by the 2 hardwired Medium Lasers. Adittionally for added mobility the F config can jump up to one hundred and twenty meters. BV (1.0) = 1,607
