Planetary History

Candiear was a member of the Magistracy of Canopus when a Star League Defense Force task force under the command of Captain-General Marion Marik was assigned to conquer the Magistracy of Canopus in 2577. Candiear was targeted by the SLDF in 2585 following the capture of Canopus IV in 2584, and was conquered by more than a division of troops. The SLDF landed the VII Corps' 56th Brigade, 61st Royal Brigade and 62nd Royal Brigade on Candiear along with the 4th Marik Militia, 2nd Oriente Hussars and 3rd Regulan Hussars in support. The planetary garrison was a mixed brigade of MAF troops consisting of the 2nd and 4th Canopian Light Horse and Buquoy's Bandits. The MAF troops contested the invasion but were forced to retreat.[5][6][1]
