Cargo Bay

A Cargo Bay is simply a storage area on a BattleMech, DropShip, or vehicle. They can be of any size and contain any item from plain bulk cargo to pressurized gases to livestock.

The simplest Cargo Bay is simply a metal box mounted on a tank. At the other extreme are the multiple storage tanks for pressurized liquids found on the Aqueduct DropShip.

Though Cargo Bays on DropShips and larger vessels can be of nearly any size, the smaller cargo bays mounted in IndustrialMechs and vehicles are typically allocated by the ton.
