History

Critchley's Cavaliers was formed by a group of ex–Federated Suns soldiers who went AWOL early in the FedCom Civil War. The unit quickly became wanted for its actions in the Chaos March, where they slaughtered many civilian townships under the guise of fighting alleged Capellan Insurgents.[1] They were one of the minor mercenary units contracted during 3063 - 3064 by Count Radcliffe McNally to help defend his holdings on Hall against "Emperor" William Baranov.

After the beating all of McNally's forces received from the Stealthy Tigers mercenary unit contracted on 3065 by Baranov which forced them to go ground.

Stragglers from Cater's Cohorts, Burton's Brigade, the McNally Guard and the Critchley's Cavaliers together, waged a year-long guerrilla war that culminated in a final assault against Harney itself in mid-3066. Though initially successful during the battle, a Tigers combat drop at the peak of the fighting took out much of the McNally Guard, including Count McNally himself. Faced with overwhelming fire, the Brigade fell back, an act that sealed the fate of Critchley's Cavaliers which were wiped out to a man.[2]
