In the buildup to the FedCom Civil War there was intense competition driving the students of the Academy and the dropout rate was high every year, because the average citizen from the Outback regions coudln't handle the stress of deducated military study. Applicants were transferred to other academies when they went further in their academic field of studying. Graduates from Filtvet were considered second rate compared to those from premier academy members like the NAIS or Albion.[1]
