Ford Verdun is a 1st Star League era SLDF base constructed on Simpson Desert.[1]
The Fort fell on hard times after the fall of the Star League, by 3060s. Word of Blake forces over looked the facilities feeling it was not worth their time to rebuild.[2] The fort surrounding areas had become Wildlands by this time.
By 3130s, the facilities were being used by planet's militia as last ditch fortification against invaders. The fort by this time had been reduced to series of Earthworks and fortifications for concerment emplacements for artillery weaponary and deep trenches for would slow down a Battlemechs and stop vehicles around the area.
In December 3rd, 3137 - The Third Lyran Regulars & 1st Hesperus Guards invaded the planet as part of their Operation Hammerfall and conquest of Duchy of Tamarind-Abbey. The local militia forces known as the "Korp", used the Verdun as their last holdout against the Lyrans. Seize against the Fort lasted for couple days.
