In the lead up to Operation UNION HOLD, the Star League invasion of the Outworlds Alliance, Goubellat was a border world between the Draconis Combine and the Outworlds Alliance. The Star League Defense Force marshalled the 42nd Brigade, a part of the 14th Division, V Corps on Goubellat prior to the invasion; the 42nd left Goubellat to deploy forward to Bad News during 2581.[2][25][26]

Goubellat was captured by a Clan Snow Raven task force on the 1st of June 3069, part of a wave of attacks launched against the Draconis Combine by the Snow Ravens.[18]
