History
Reputation
Atwyl was reputed to be friendly and charismatic, with a particular love of engaging in combat with BattleMechs. The 22 victory markers his fighter bore as of 3030[2], and 37 by 3039[3], were testament to his skill as a pilot.
Blue Flight
Atwyl was as a Lieutenant the commander of Blue Flight, Orbital/Aerospace Operations Group of Wolf's Dragoons between at least 3023 and 3030.[2][4]
In this role in 3023 he participated in the Dragoons' raid on the Federated Suns world of Quentin, while under contract with the Draconis Combine, engaging in a famous duel with a Rifleman BattleMech during a mission to destroy a damaged and grounded Davion Union-class DropShip. While injured in this duel, he was successful in defeating the Rifleman.[4][3]
Later in the Dragoons' contract with the Draconis Combine in 3026, Atwyl also participated in the joint Dragoon/Ryuken assault on Barlow's End.[5]
In 3028, on Misery, Atwyl also acted as part of the honor guard for Minobu Tetsuhara, when Tetsuhara was on his way to commit seppuku.[6]
Dragoon Civil War
During the Dragoon Civil War in 3054, by which time he had been promoted to Colonel and commander of the Dragoons' Aerospace forces, Atwyl sided with those still loyal to Jaime Wolf. He convinced Fleet Captain Issola Chandra, commanding officer of the Dragoon's fleet in orbit above Outreach, to adopt a neutral stance between the two sides. He did not further participate, as Chandra interned him as a potential combatant for the remainder of the dispute.[7]
Vehicle
Atwyl was known to pilot an LCF-R15 Lucifer Medium Aerospace Fighter.[2][4]
