Ibis Von Rohrs was the commanding officer of the 2nd Sword of Light.[1]
History
She was assigned to the 2nd Sword of Light when the unit was first equipped with BattleMechs and sent to conquer Nox. The battle was noteworthy for having been the site of the first-large scale BattleMech battle in the history of the Inner Sphere. The Draconis Combine assaulted Nox in 2475, making use of their newly-fielded BattleMech forces, developed in secret following the Combine acquiring BattleMech technology in the early 2460s. The assault, spearheaded by the Second Sword of Light regiment, saw the Combine forces suffer a heavy defeat at the hands of the primitive Lyran COM-1A Commando.[2] The loss on Nox was sufficiently humiliating that the reputation of the primitive GLD-1R Gladiator 'Mech was permanently tarnished, with production halted and investment instead made into the development of the new Von Rohrs as the Combine's primary BattleMech. The 2nd Sword of Light's performance resulted in their commanding officer being quickly replaced by Colonel Ibis Von Rohrs.[3][1]
