Description
The strength of the Kage Light Battle Armor lies in its jumping capacity of one hundred twenty meters. Designers wanted to ensure that the Kage (Japanese for "shadow") could move quickly, yet remain obscured thanks to its stealth armor. Those same designers integrated a wing-like apparatus on the back of the suit in order to maintain altitude. This early battle armor design began production in 3056 and has mostly been issued to DEST troopers.
The design is still used in the 3130s thanks in large part to its combination agility and firepower.[citation needed]
Armament
Kage troopers generally avoid combat, as each suit can only take a single blast from a Medium Laser before its pilot is threatened. In addition, the Kage suit is unarmed, though a squad leader usually carries a heavy support weapon. This support weapon can come in the form of a flamer, small laser, machine gun, or Light TAG. The hands are unencumbered, however, so Kage troopers can carry anti-personnel weapons in their armored gloves.
Variants
- Vibro-Claw - This variant arms the Kage with a pair of Vibro-Claws in place of the armored gloves the standard model has. A squad that uses the claws cannot make use of a support weapon. BV (1.0) = 18
- Gauss Rifle - Near 3130, some Kage battle armor were spotted using infantry Gauss Rifles.[citation needed]
