Hauptmann Maximillian Marius was a Lyran Commonwealth MechWarrior during the Dark Age Era.[1][2]

Marius came from a humble, non-noble background, but nevertheless managed to attend and graduate from The Nagelring. His time at the Academy was full of conflict, butting heads with fellow students with high social standing, resulting in a number of scars and broken bones.[1]
His skill and high marks allowed Marius, despite his background, an assignment to the prestigious Royal Guards. Rising to command a Company, he fought in the Third Battle for Tharkad during the Word of Blake Jihad, as a result of which his 'Mech was badly damaged..[2]
BattleMech[edit]
Marius was known to have piloted a KGC-20-A King Crab BattleMech, nicknamed "Verfinsterung" (Eclipse).[1] This 'Mech was rebuilt after being damaged on Tharkad with Clan salvage, including two Hyper-Assault Gauss Rifles and Extended Range Small Lasers. Its performance in subsequent combat was so impressive that StarCorps Industries sought to have it approved as a full factory variant.[2]
