System Info

The world of Mayetta was discovered by a JumpShip with a faulty navigation system.[1]

During the Star League era, the world was chosen by DoME, Department of Mega-Engineering, as a candidate for terraforming. The extensive costs of the terraforming were greatly offset by the massive mineral wealth discovered on world as well as in the planet's two moons. Both the moons and the world itself were the site of sizable SLDF, Star League Defense Force, bases to defend the large investments in mining and terraforming equipment.[33]

Mayetta served as the headquarters world of the Mayetta PDZ in the Draconis March of the Federated Suns. Though this brought the world some notice, the citizens of Mayetta mostly kept to themselves. By 3067, their educational and medical systems were lacking when compared to other worlds, but the extensive mineral exports brought in enough capital to provide a safe and stable lifestyle to the planet's inhabitants.[1]

During the FedCom Civil War, the Yalos family brought unwanted attention to Mayetta. In exchange for backing Victor Steiner-Davion they tried to create their own little empire centered on Mayetta. Instead the pro-Katrina Steiner-Davion Milligan DMM and Bremond DMM arrived on the world. The Mayetta DMM was destroyed and rolled into other Allied units.[1]
