The local government was attempting to establish larger, more profitable mining concerns to improve trade. The degree of security surrounding that matter suggests a substantial find somewhere in the Mirfak system. The planet had no HPG facility.[1]

On the 23rd of May 3072 forces from the Calderon Protectorate raided a number of Taurian Concordat worlds, including Mirfak.[3][4]
