Description
The Moray Heavy Attack Submarine is an undersea fire-support vehicle originally produced for the SLDF's Royal CAAN Regiments. The submarine was designed to work with the lighter Manta Attack as part of undersea team.
The design served originally with SLDF until its demise, it and the Mantra became extinct off Terra during the Succession Wars era. ComStar took surviving units that remained on Terra out of service. However, after the Word of Blake reactivated the Sungdong-STX Shipbuilding's production line and had limited production to provide escorts for their Wyrm SDS Submersible Fortresses. After the liberation of Terra in 3079, the Morays captured by the Allied Coalition were used hunt down rogue Blakist controlled Wyrm. After the War, the Republic of the Sphere, retained the design in service to support remaining Wyrms in used.
The Moray designed to handled incredible abuse by enemy fire, which is why the design was given features 18 tons of ferro-febrious armor and CASE to prevent ammunition explosions from completely destroying the ship.[2]
Armament
The Moray features weapons are split from the main body and its turret. The vehicle's turret has 10-tubed Long Range Torpedo launcher, one of the ships' 6-tubed Short-Range Torpedo launchers and its Extend Range Medium Lasers.
In the ship's bow/front the design has a pair of 20-Tubed Long-Range Torpedo launchers and single SRT 6 launcher. A single LRT-10 launcher and SRT-6 mounted in ship's rear arch to round out its weapons.
The ship carries 3 tons ammunition each of its LRT 10 and 20 launchers, while 4 tons is delegated for SRT.[3]
