Overview
Myomer Armor is an armor innovation introduced in the Lyran Alliance by Kyoto College in 3047. It consists of several layers of powered myomer bundles and ballistic weave cloth; the armor system mimics (to some degree) sub-dermal myomer implants. Myomer armor is extremely expensive, but provides a very high level of protection with minimal physical restrictions.
Like most armor, myomer armor comes in two types of coverage. Myomer suits cover the torso, arms, and legs. A myomer vest only covers the torso. In Classic BattleTech play, infantry wearing Myomer suits are treated as having a damage divisor of 2, greatly increasing an infantry unit's survivability. This benefit is offset, however, by the armor's encumbrance which prevents units using this armor from making Anti-Mech Infantry attacks.
