One of the Lyran Commonwealth’s premiere MechWarrior training facilities.

Description

Pacifica Training School, one of the Lyran Commonwealth’s premiere MechWarrior training facilities situated on beautiful Chara III.

Here, MechWarriors recruits undertake the final stage of their BattleMech certification. Over weeks of gruelling training, cadets perform a series of solo cockpit missions, each on progressively harder than the last. Here they learn how to manoeuvre a full-size, fully-operational BattleMech inside a specially designed arena, which simulates actual battlefield conditions.

The MechWarrior training program is very demanding, but most would consider membership in the elite ranks of the Lyran Alliance Armed Forces BattleMech Corps to be reward enough.

Training

While MechWarrior training focuses mainly on two areas employed in BattleMech combat, Gunnery and Piloting, cadets also have the opportunity to heighten their skills in one or two other areas as well. A crack rifleman will be a great aid to a Lance in infantry combat, just as no successful Lance should be without a good doctor or technician.

BattleMech Gunnery – A pilot's facility with 'Mech mounted weaponry.

BattleMech Piloting – Proficiency at the controls of a 'Mech.

Bow/Blade – Combat proficiency with bows, blades, and thrown weapons.

Pistol – Marksmanship with small, hand-held projectile weapons, from revolvers to dart guns to laser pistol.

Rifle – Combat skill with two-handed projectile weapons, including all rifles, submachine guns, and missile launchers.

Medical – Learn how to administer proper health care to wounds.

Technician – Servicing, repairing and salvage 'Mechs in the field.

Game References

The Training School is the famed training grounds of Jason Youngblood[1] as played in BattleTech: The Crescent Hawks' Inception[2].

In 3028, Pacifica was invaded and occupied briefly by House Kurita forces, which invaded the world in search of a Star League cache rumored to be on the planet. The invasion marked the reformation of the famed Crescent Hawks unit, under the command of Jason Youngblood. The Hawks fought a guerilla war against the Kurita occupation forces, called in reinforcements and successfully kept the cache safe until the Lyran relief forces arrived. This subsequently caused the invasion to fail and forced the remaining Kurita forces off planet.
