In the lead-up to Operation UNION HOLD, the Star League invasion of the Outworlds Alliance, Pondicherry was a border world between the Draconis Combine and the Outworlds Alliance. The Star League Defense Force marshalled the 37th and 39th Royal Brigades, part of the 13th Royal Division, V Corps on Pondicherry prior to the invasion; both brigades left Pondicherry to deploy forward to Bad News during 2581.[3][30][31]

In 3150 the First Amphigean Light Assault Group raided the world, investigating rumors of an impending assault on New Samarkand.[32]
