Description

The Raptor RRV is an ultralight Tracked Support Vehicle used as a personnel carrier in Free Worlds League. Introduced in 3059, the vehicle is intended as an auxiliary combat vehicle with the ability to aid its troops in the field with additional cargo and support equipment. The Raptor is considered to be an updated version of the former FedCom's Cellco Ranger UPU-3000 law enforcement vehicle.[1]

The Raptor was popular due to its features in comparison to older model vehicles.[1]

Weapons and Equipment

Designed with off-the-shelf civilian grade equipment, the Raptor was intended to be a low expense but hardy vehicle. The vehicle's power source is and electric Fuel Cell Engine, which propels it upwards to 64 kph and has been given the range of 833 kilometers. Protecting its crew and personnel, is 1.5 tons of BAR-8 rated armor which is resistant to most small arms fire such as machine guns.[1]

For its primary mission as a personnel carrier, the vehicle is fitted with a Infantry Compartment with a single door at the rear of the vehicle.. The compartment is capable of carrying 3 tons worth of troops and their equipment.[1]

Not intended for frontline combat, the vehicle is armed with a single Extended-Range Small Laser, which is mounted in the vehicle's turret. The weapon is fitted with a Basic Fire Control, which gives some accuracy should the weapon be needed in an emergency situation.[1]

Notes

The Raptor RRV first appeared in Technical Readout: Vehicle Annex with no stats. The Revised edition of the publication would highlight the vehicle stats for the first time.

However, information about the vehicle Armored Chassis and control modifications is missing and there is no published Record Sheet to confirm its presence.[1] The vehicle does have a entry on the MUL, but it does not include Battle Value or any other information aside from introduction year.
