HPG Siege and Addicks Refugees[edit]
On 16 November 3132, the Towne HPG was subject to siege by supporters of the Dragon's Fury, which was violently lifted by Republic forces under Legate Jonathan Jurik at Governor Oscar's request. Due to the death of the chief Sacrist Giovan Benetti during the siege Oscar appointed Lev Bouzerau to succeed Benetti as head of the HPG station.[1]
Later that same November, on the 18th, Oscar led Towne's welcome of refugees who arrived from Addicks. The Governor met the refugees personally in private for over three hours.[4]
Martial Law and New Militia[edit]
By December 3132, as the disordered flowing from the Blackout increased, Oscar was seeking to publicly quell rumors that her Government would seek to implement martial law on Towne. While not denying emergency plans existed, Oscar announced she was not intending to implement them at the present.[5]
On 5 February 3133, in response to attacks on other Republic worlds, Oscar and Legate Jurik announced the formation of the Towne Defense Force, an expanded planetary militia, and placed Daman Zibler in command as General.[6]
Johnston Falls Floods and White Hand Terrorists[edit]
Beset by not only military challenges, in April 3133 Governor Oscar was required to respond to flooding in Johnston Falls, in the Sydney province on the Fetryl continent. This included declaring the area a global disaster area, allocating emergency funds and sending rescue crews to the impacted locations.[7]
This was compounded later in April, when the White Hand terrorist movement denotated a bomb at a mall in the city of Gherstwood in Haitiana province, killing at least 30 and wounding more than 80 others. The planetary government announced that these were part of a trading convoy.[10] However, in secret, Towne's leaders activated local forces and sent Governor Oscar and her staff to a safe location. Within hours of the landing, the two battalions of Stormhammers surged south towards Port Howard, engaging Towne's defenders in battle.[11] Local Knight-Errant Kristoff Erbe was placed in charge of the defense.[12]
