Rim Commonality

The Rim Commonality is a sub-nation located within the Free Worlds League.

National Information

The Commonality was founded in 2681, with its capital located on Lesnovo, in city of Zletovo.

As of 3130, the Commonality consisted of 15 worlds.

The government is a Feudal Autocracy (with democratic leanings).

The nation's national emblem is a yellow sunburst on a red field, at the heart of which is a silhouette of an eagle.

As of 3130, its elected leader is Prime Minister, Lord Michael Cendar.

History

Free Worlds League

The Rim was original part of the Principality of Regulus until 2681. Advanced by House Marik, a document was created that severed the Rim from Regulan control as part of a political campaign to break down its opposition. The Rim & Regulus maintained good trade between one another, but it was was considerably reduced from where it had been since it had broken away.

Jihad

During the Jihad, the Rim Commonality declared independance from the League in 3075 after 6 half years of the war. The Rim Commonality had hired various mercenary units to help in the defend the nation against Pirate Raids, which includes Chaos Irregulars mercenary unit. The nation annexed pirate haven Astrokaszy and other neighboring worlds, reinforcing its borders and security.

Post Jihad Era

Rim Commonality views of the Principality of Regulus changed after the Jihad. After the central government of the Free Worlds League collapsed, the Regulans consulated worlds surrounding it. Which included Regulan Free States and worlds of the former Principality of Gibson.

This forced the nation to fight off invasions from Regulans, as well raids from others nations such as Marian Hegemony & Magistracy of Canopus. Despite the threats, had maintained their policy of peaceful expansion and trade through late 31st & early 32nd centuries. The Chaos Irregulars, were formally asked and accepted become elite military unit in Rim's military forces, becoming known as 1st Rim Commonality Guard. In 3110, Michael Cendar is elected to position of Prime Minister.

Dark Age

The Oriente Protectorate, in a bid to expand ties with Rim, sent the Captain-General's daughter Elis Marik to try establish a better relationship. This was in the form of a political marriage between the two noble families. Secretly, Elis is influencing her husband to work more closely with the Protectorate & bring about change in the government. Ultimately, an alliance was created between two by 3137.

However, the Regulan Fiefs began passing false documents to create rumors that the Rim Commonality was forcibly taking worlds. The Rim Commonality, worried that this aggression would taint in the eyes of several allied worlds, most notably Westover. The 1st Rim Commonality Guard are deployed on a diplomatic mission to the planet to win over its Duke Wesley. This mission was a success.

In April 3139, the Protectorate's 1st Rim Commonality Guard were deployed in Operation Homecoming to seize the final worlds to help reunify League. On June 3rd, with the swearing in of Captain-General Jessica Marik on Atreus, the Rim Commonality became a member state of the newly reborn Free Worlds League.
